Handmade Photo Cards

Last week I had a day off of work so I used it creatively.  I sent some of my photography to the photo lab and got some cards and photo corners at the craft store and mounted my photography to note cards.  I took them to work last week and several of my coworkers really liked them.  It was nice to get some appreciation for my photography.  While I do senior portraits and weddings occasionally, nature photography is my favorite medium.  You can do so much with it when you have the right lighting and a good eye for details.  After this little boost I've had, I think I'm ready to move on to bigger things, like listing the cards for sale on Etsy.

Coupon Trading!

Wow, I just posted on Craigslist that I had all kinds of formula coupons to trade, and I've been getting lots of response!  I'm so glad someone will be able to use these coupons, because they're really worth a lot of money and I don't want to see them go to waste.  Plus, I will get some coupons for diapers and things that we need.
I also posted several things on Craigslist that I'm trying to sell, but no response for those yet.  I hope someone will buy them, I just have too many things that I don't need cluttering my little house!

Kiddopotamus Swaddle Wraps

So my gloworm has been consistently getting out of her swaddling at night, and if she isn't swaddled, she doesn't sleep well because she startles and flails and wakes up.  Before she was born, a friend gave me a Kiddopotamus swaddle wrap, but I never got around to using it.  Well, earlier this week we used it for the first time, and it works amazingly well!  She can't get out of it, and the soft fleece keeps her nice and warm overnight.  It even works in the car seat, which is something we were having problems with.  She hates the car seat, and flails and screams most of the time she is in it.  With the swaddle wrap, she stays securely buckled in and the swaddle wrap goes over her arms and keeps her from lashing about.  It has made car rides much more enjoyable for everyone.  I like it so much that I ordered two more slightly used ones on ebay so I have one for nighttime, one for the car seat, and one for the wash.

Just added!

I put a recipe page in the directory and will add more recipes as I have the time.  Feel free to browse them and use the ones you find appealing!

Today was not supposed to be like this!

It's not even 11:00 am, and already things aren't going as planned.  It's only 12 degrees F outside right now, so I don't really want to go anywhere.  I'm not worried about me, but I don't think a three month old should be out in that weather.  So I'm stuck at home, with all these neat ideas in my head of projects I could do but can't because I don't have the materials.  Like making cappuccino mix for my friends at work, scrap booking some handmade cards with my photography on them, or painting the trim in my master bathroom. I can't even bake anything. I used the last of the eggs.  On top of that, my baby is upset and won't take a nap.

Maybe I will just spend the day reading for the book club at the library and hope my glow worm takes a nap soon.  I've already had my cocoa and biscotti, so I will just curl up on the couch and read while sipping caffeiene free cola.  Perhaps I will start a fire, too.  I suppose it wouldn't hurt :)

The Beginning...

Well, this is my first blog post.  I've never done this before, so bear with me through my missteps.  It's bitterly cold out and I'm not working today, so I thought it would be the perfect time to try out something different.  And with a three month old baby, trying something different once in a while may help me to keep my sanity intact (at least for the most part).  So please join me on my quest to be a good mother, wife, daughter, and friend to those around me.
